Diagnostic Portslink
2024+ Model 3 is equipped with a consolidated diagnostic port which complies with SAE J1962 or ISO 15031-3 form factor. This port supports both CAN and Ethernet communication. It also provides an interface for running ODIN (On-board Diagnostics Interfaces) routines with local connection.
A pair of CAN High and CAN Low wiring is connected from the left vehicle controller (VCLEFT) directly to the diagnostic port. This VCLEFT private CAN network is called On-board Diagnostics (OBD) CAN. Information used for European taxis like Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and signals are communicated over this private CAN.
Different from 2024+ Model 3, Model 3 vehicles made before 2024 have different form factors to support diagnostic communication via Ethernet or CAN. See the table below for more details:

DoIP Gatewaylink
The DoIP Gateway is only enabled during inspection when a diagnostic port connection is detected and the hardwired activation line is pulled high (> 5V). The DoIP Gateway will shut down when the diagnostic port is disconnected and activation line is no longer pulled high.
