Diagnostic Connections

Warning

Some Tesla vehicles are equipped with both an OBD-II J1962 port (which does not support Diagnostic over Internet Protocol (DoIP)) and a separate diagnostics port.

Do not connect an OBD-II J1962 to RJ45 Ethernet cable into an OBD-II J1962 port that does not support DoIP. Doing so may cause damage to electronic equipment.

Always use the appropriate diagnostic cable and connector location.
